Jess Green is a published poet and member of the Labour Party. Her recent book and performance at the Edinburgh Festival is entitled, ‘A Self Help Guide To Being In Love With Jeremy Corbyn‘. Her promotional material states, “When BBC Slam Champion, Jess Green joined the Labour Party at university in 2007 she doubled the number of members who met weekly in the Liverpool Philharmonic pub. Since then she’s stuck by them through the downfall of Tony Blair, the disappointment of Gordon Brown and the monolith of Ed Miliband. And now after a decade of keeping her membership card firmly at the back of her wallet she’s fallen head over heels in love with Jeremy Corbyn and his raw socialist magnetism. If only everyone else agreed.

Her nearest performance to North Cumbria is in Newcastle at the end of May 2019. Wouldn’t it be good if she could come over to Cumbria.

Check out the YouTube video, at the end of this post,  of Jess performing her poem about Universal Credit and UK Poverty.
