Penrith Pong

Several local residents continue to express concerns about the problem that has become known as the Penrith Pong.

In July 2014 it was reported that a confidential settlement had been reached in the ‘Penrith pong’ case. Alba Proteins Limited, who run an animal rendering plant, at Wildriggs on the outskirts of Penrith, agreed a settlement with lawyers who represented 88 families from the area. The agreement was kept very secretive though it is known that a so-called independent odour consultant was to be appointed to make unannounced visits over the following three years. Those three years have now passed.

However, for many, things have not improved which is why local people have set up a Facebook page, Protest Against the Penrith Pong Facebook Page, where they are requesting that people sign a petition at 38 Degrees to get rid of the Penrith Pong. You can access the petition by clicking on the image below.
